The author of this site and the book Beyond Description, Burt, was a spiritual "seeker" until he found the "teachings" of Sailor Bob Adamson. Bob Adamson traveled to India in the 1970s and met Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj who clearly and directly pointed him to his own true nature. Bob recognized this and has been sharing what he knows with whoever is interested ever since then with a simplicity and clarity that is often overlooked.

With the help of some of Bob's former "students", particularly John Wheeler and Gilbert Schultz, Burt was able to recognize the profound but simple truth of what Bob is saying and to clear up his remaining doubts.

What is talked about on this site and in the book cannot be defined or described but only pointed to with words. It is beyond concepts and beliefs as it is the fundamental reality which underlies and permeates all that is. Advaita Vedanta is a classical Indian philosophy which is similar to what is being talked about here, however to put any label on it is to miss the essential truth of what is being pointed to.
